The new kids on the block.
88Camino and Derek Wise, who came together to form the group 88Glam, released their debut eponymous tape, 88Glam, last week.
Hailing from Toronto, both artists have formed their own careers in their own right, but this is their debut collaborative project. It was a very impressive project, as both artists’ flows and swagger on the tracks greatly complemented each other.
Derek Wise’s vocals are like a deeper-voiced, rapping version of Partynextdoor, and is a polar opposite to 88Camino’s auto-tuned, high pitched sound. It is their difference in sound that makes them so cohesive, and it’s no wonder that they are already under the Weeknd’s XO label imprint.
Their tape contains 13 tracks, with the solo feature being provided by Toronto’s own Nav, and production being provided by big names such as Murda Beatz.
