Grime legend [@LethalBizzle] joins [@NandosUK] Music Exchange as a mentor

From the 4th-7th of June at the Roundhouse Young Creatives studio in Camden, Nando’s is once again running their Music Exchange programme.

The music mogul known for classic hits like ‘Pow’, ‘Oi’, and more recent tracks like ‘Rari Workout‘ and ‘Flex’ has joined the established Nando’s programme which is going into its fourth year now. Bizzle will be joining three previously announced mentors: rapper and published poet Sho Madjozi from South Africa; Australian female rapper Tkay Maidza; and representing Canada, Nathaniel Motte, best known as one half of popular duo 3OH!3. The variety of countries the mentors are from reflecting the diversity amongst those on the programme.

38 people were chosen from over 150 candidates to represent South Africa, Australia, Canada, and the UK. The Nando’s programme works to help emerging musicians turn the heat up on their careers through global two-way exchanges and collaboration. This year it consists of a four-day workshop with panel talks from a curated line up of industry experts and culminates in the participants having to produce a track from scratch, with extra guidance from the aforementioned mentors.

Lethal Bizzle in speaking about the programme said:

“I’ve benefitted from my own mentors over the years such as Richard Antwi, so it’s good to have the opportunity to share what I’ve learnt with the next generation of artists.”

However, the programme is not just for those talented and lucky 38. On the 7th of June, some of those previously mentioned special industry panel talks will be open to the public. More details will be coming very soon on this, but if you have even a passing interest in the music industry or the music creation process you need to be getting down to this!

Equally, if you need more to get involved with – Roundhouse works with over 3,000 11-25s, helping them to fulfill their potential through creativity.  The Roundhouse aims to work with young people who have been excluded, marginalised or disadvantaged by society, aiding them to find pathways back into education, work or simply to enjoy a wider cultural life.
