GUAP MEETS: THE CREC [@the_crec]

Meet the group of young creatives slowly taking a firm grip of the UK Hip-Hop music scene. Known as @the_crec, this group have made phenomenal movements towards their goal of creating “high-end [and] top quality content from a grass-root lower level”. Having being hand selected by BBC1 Extra presenter Mista Jam, the collective have also gone on to sell out their first show at the Camden Assembly and don’t see themselves stopping anytime soon.

Originally founded in 2015 by three young and ambitious men, the formation began upon a realisation that their skills and experience was a perfect blend of creativity. Members Nathan and Tsey had come from a music & promotions background and  Nigel had worked with BBC 2. After vicariously stumbling across the brand name, they began by working on various projects for each other which  included collaborations with artists @bruddanay and @Karimthapeasant. With all this effort there is no doubt that since the birth of the Crec, the group have grown significantly. The current members include:

Nathan BrambleCo-Founder, Director, MC and Sound Engineer

Nigel Atta-MensahCo- Founder, Photographer and Videographer

Tsey OmashCo-Founder and Head Creative Director

Richard Hlomador Videographer

Bea Darko Stylist

Although, it may seem that the journey for them has gone without it’s challenges, co-founder Nathan Bramble states that what they mostly struggle with at the moment is “growing an online presence”. However this has not dis-heartened the group since they claim to be doing what they are passionate about and that makes them happy.

After having what seems like a very successful summer, it doesn’t look like they are ready to take a break. Since their first show at the Camden Assembly , they are coming back even bigger and better. They have planned to feature even more of their talents during their future show on the 23rd of December. The last Saturday before Christmas, sounds like a treat.

As 2018 is around the corner, the collective have informed us to expect more excellence and more music from Brudda Nay as his Black Horse EP will be dropping.
