Experience the music of New York in a special [@BBCProms] celebrating a sound that changed a generation

Ever wanted to experience music from the big apple without the expensive flight and long journey? Well look no further as the BBC Proms have added a unique night to its otherwise classical programme.

‘New York: Sound of a City’ will celebrate the musical legacy of New York. It will feature guest artists from across NYC. Including rising stars such as singer-songwriter Sharon Van Etten, and serpentwithfeet as well as dance veterans Hercules and Love Affair.

Conducted by Jules Buckley, expect everything from Hip-hop and disco-punk to feminist rap. This year’s Proms are devoted to the BBC Radiophonic Workshop and if you think this season will be all about classical music your wrong.

The event is being held on Wednesday 8th August 2018 at 22:15, tickets range from £10 – £35 and can be purchased here.
