Miraa May first came onto the radar during an acoustic version of Cardi B’s Bodak Yellow at an SBTV event, her vocal ability stood out. In 2016, She dropped her Salaam Remi produced EP N15, as an ode to her Tottenham ends. Here she firmly established her wit, brutal honesty and became a rising star in UK RnB.  Fast forward to November 2018 and absence has only made the heart grow fonder, with Mizzy’s Island Record debut, Care Package.

The five-track EP lasting 17 minutes has no features, allowing you to take in Miraa’s stripped back and raw vocals. Miraa is sure of herself, her opinions and her skill in Care Package. She sings delicately, but confidently to a rhythm associated with rap, amongst her uplifting lyrics.

In ‘Regardless’ Miraa brings out her funny personality and makes sure you don’t forget she’s from Totty. Her adlibs “one take ting” right at the end of the track and gentle harmonies over lyrics like “never ever trust the feds,” sustains her authentic and London infused view.

Miraa bravely shows off her songwriting skills in ‘Sad’ by opening up about her struggles with her emotions. In this track and consistently throughout the EP, Miraa matches her soulful tone to her full of character energy.

We’ve seen Mizzy putting in work in LA on the socials, but we are glad to welcome her back home with Care Package. Listen to Care Package available on all major streaming platforms and you can watch Miraa May’s visuals for N15 above.
