Shahlaa Discovers [@ShahlaaTahira] X Guap – [@PitchImperfect_ ] Takeover

I first met Pitch Imperfect in 2015, when I seen him perform at Remel London’s #RateMePlz event. He performed a spoken word piece called Instagirl and between his crowd control, delivery and relevant message, I knew he was going to make waves on the scene. Fast forward to 2017 and not only has Pitch Imperfect developed his pen game, but he has also developed into more than a spoken word artist. He has become an artist in his own right. Developing his sound and killing live performances, Pitch Imperfect is definitely one to watch in the UK. So don’t be late have a read about him in this special Pitch Imperfect Takeover.

Describe your sound in 3 Words.

Story-Telling Canvas

Why is music so important to you?

Music is my form of escape. Hip-Hop music in particular, allows me to accurately explain how I’m feeling and why I feel that way. Music is the heartbeat to my life and without it, the void would be too large for me to have much hope.

When your think about your biggest dreams, where does your mind take you?

As an artist, my biggest dream would be to tell the world my story. I want my voice to reach the four corners of the world and hopefully write my name in the history books amongst some of the greats in music. Most importantly, as a man, my biggest dream would be to provide for my family’s well being and to inspire the minds of the youth.

Hindsights a bitch, what do you wish you could of learnt earlier?

I wish I learnt how to play multiple instruments, especially the piano as it’s my favourite instrument.

I like you man, where do I go to check out more?

Spotlight Track:

Pitch Imperfect has given me an exclusive heads up to let me know he has brand new visuals coming out mid October. Which are currently in the edit process, so for now check out his latest release ‘Wave’ he dropped at the end of Summer for Notting Hill Carnival.

Pitch Imperfect – Wave

In his latest single entitled WAVE, Pitch Imperfect shows his ability to be versatile, switching it up from his usual hip hop/rap influenced sound. Pitch Imperfect decided to have fun and honour carnival season by allowing himself to freestyle and use Jamaican patois. By doing this he creates an authentic reggae vibe, showing love to his Jamaican roots.

Within WAVE he references White Rum, Bob Marley, Tony Matterhorn and some new dance crazes. This is  a new side to Pitch Imperfect which lets us know his musical journey is not going to be a predictable one. So despite it being early October and flu season WAVE  is guaranteed to get you feeling the heat and if you have a flag to hand  “pull out yuh flag and wave”.

Pitch Imperfect is a triple threat; rapper, singer and spoken word artist from Hackney. Although he has these three skills, they are all connected through his ability to tell stories through lyricism. Pitch Imperfect has said “My aim is to tell the world my story with raw, unfiltered and unapologetic truths.” Currently, Pitch Imperfect is working on his official debut project that will be revealed towards the end of the year.
