Watch the full interview above.
In this interview we discussed Tammy’s earliest memories of playing football as well as his families influence on his journey. His professional career began at Chelsea FC as a youth player. He was subsequently sent out on loan to Championship club Bristol City; winning the club’s Player of the Season, Young Player of the Season and Top Goalscorer Awards. He later enjoyed successful spells at Swansea City and Aston Villa.
The 2018/2019 season marks a big opportunity for Tammy with Frank Lampard stepping in as the new Chelsea manager; looking to integrate some exciting youth talent into the first team due to their transfer ban. We asked Tammy how he felt being entrusted with the number 9 shirt for his return to Chelsea FC as they set off on the new campaign.
Tammy remains humble in this interview, which took place just before the start of the season. Just 5 games in, he has already played an integral role in all of Chelsea’s fixtures netting a total of 7 goals. This being an exceptional response after making headlines for missing a penalty on the opening game of season, leading to despicable racist chants and tweets directed at the young striker from sections of the fan base.
With Chelsea looking to keep up their some-what decent momentum as the Premier League kicks on and Champions League group stages loom, they’ll be needing their number 9 in fine form. We look forwards to seeing him continue to grow and develop under club legend Frank Lampard.
