Over this Easter weekend, we got to celebrate Easter with more than just a few Easter eggs, popular fashion retailer Pretty Little Thing revealed the winners for this years PLT awards. Having various categories including a few of our favourite influencers and content creators such as fashion influencer, won by ex Love Islander Molly Mae, Personality of the year won by the talented Maya Jama and queen of bringing us the realest talks, best laughs, along with that wholesome fashion content basically perfect quarantine binging content, Nella Rose has won YouTuber of the year. While interviewed by PLT on their podcast, Nella talks about the importance of letting girls know “it’s okay to not look like Beyonce.” She also talks about how she started out with Youtube as a university student gathering her friends to talk about the realities, struggles and fun times of university. Her honesty, personality and being the girl we can all relate to in some way is what got her thousand of followers and is what till this day continues to get her views, collaborations and recognitions from trending brands such as Pretty Little thing.
Nella provides content that is hilarious as well as inspiring her openness makes us all feel like we are a part of her life. Youtube and social media can be such a challenging career to stay popular in as trends are constantly changing and adapting . One thing that keeps Nella Rose so popular is that she constantly moves with the times in an authentic way that true to herself and her audience. Nella is always trying out so many different styles and looks from green hair to ombre pink hair to classy outfits and cool street style, Nella shows young girls they can be whoever they want to be. Her confidence is uplifted and has definitely saved a lot of us both in university and those of us who have graduated, during tough times when all we needed was a good laugh and a friendly face, for this aspect alone Nella Rose is the perfect person for this award many of us will be celebrating with her.
Bringing the Pretty Little Thing awards to the comfort of our home, PLT invited Terrence J to host PLT’s virtual award last night on Instagram live with the winners giving us an acceptance speech.
Many of our favourite festivals, fashion shows and events have been cancelled but PLT shows us the perfect way to still celebrate people who are succeeding in their career and motivating aspiring content creators and YouTubers to kick start their youtube channel and put out some content while the world will be glued to their computer screens.
