For this Spring/Summer 2020 collection entitled “Kejetia Kumasi” A kind of Guise has taken to the rich land of Ghana to shoot their SS20 lookbook.
Taking inspiration from Ghana’s lively atmosphere and west African lifestyle the collection reflects these elements contrasted with the cool and casual tones and silhouettes used for the collection.
Kumasi Central Market is an open-air market in the city of Kumasi, the capital of Ashanti, this location was largely used as inspiration behind the collection and this is visible through the lookbook. The Lookbook not only showcases the clothing but also gives us a taste of the cultural atmosphere in Ghana from a locals perspective. With lockdown forcing us to cancel all of our summer holidays abroad we’re all in search of seeing and feeling different cultures. Whether that’s through trying out new food, learning a new language or being inspired by travel photography. Fashion photography is a great escapism, a chance to go to a place where there are limitless possibilities, something we need to hold onto during this time.
