Cake, balloons and pastel colours. [@lilyachty] drops visuals to ‘ Bring It Back’

Cake, balloons and pastel colours. If it wasn’t for the signature red hair with beads and gold teeth, you would never know this was a Lil Yachty video. Reminiscent of Katy Perry’s ‘Teenage Dream’, the vid captures Lil Yachty’s youthfulness and quirky charm perfectly. The “pastel prom”, complete with clouds and cake, was created by Lil Yachty himself and was directed by Millicent Hailes. The director/ photographer also directed the vid for Lil Yachty’s song with Migos, Peek-a-boo, and has photographed Big Sean, Chris Brown and Amber Rose. With ‘Bring It Back’, the duo manage to bring something new to a music scene where visuals are dominated by bikinis and twerking. It’s nice to see girls with afros in prom dresses, slow dancing, goofy photos and people just generally having fun. And I think that was the entire concept of this video. Fun. I think it’s often easy to forget that this is a rapper that is only nineteen years old. He is at at time in his life where having fun is a priority, and why shouldn’t it be? The rapper has done extremely well for himself, and is seemingly content with the way things are going for him at the moment. In my opinion this is a video that is ultimately showcasing how happy Lil Yachty is… much to the annoyance of Joe Budden.
