East London grime pioneer Dirty Danger, releases more self directed visuals for his third single, ‘Destiny’, from his Only For The Real project.

Following up from releasing the visuals to ‘Run’ and ‘So Real’, Dirty Danger is back again this time for ‘Destiny’. This track enlists a number of friends and even family, with a feature from Bayku and the beat being produced by Method – who is also Danger’s cousin. This unity trickles through into the video, which is bolstered by an all-star line-up in the form of Ruff Sqwad, the grime collective Danger started off with. ‘Destiny’ serves to show his consistency in his innovative videography and creative aesthetics, this video embodying a work of art that narrates his journey of life and his renowned destiny.

In the words of Danger himself:

“This track is a testimony to my journey in life and music. I usually make my own material but the instrumental produced my cousin Method was sending chills down my spine so it only right that I linked up with my friend Bayku and made a powerful banger.”

There’s not much I can argue with that either, the instrumental is haunting and instantly captivating. Although the melody is very repetitive and quite simple against todays landscape, this is as close to authentic grime production as you will find at the moment.

The one negative you could say about the track is that Danger doesn’t switch his cadence much, which could be off-putting to some as it could come across as monotonous. But beyond that and the instrumental, the track gets a very interesting feature in the form of Bayku.

Now to many Bayku may not be a name or voice you have necessarily heard before but he has worked with the likes of UGK, Outkast, and Akon to name a few. This surprise addition of an American and his unique delivery, contrasted against the harsh and recognisable London accent providing an interesting listening experience.
