Love Saves The Day Festival (Eastville Park, Bristol, 28th-29th May)

From Kano to My Nu Leng to 67, there really is (and excuse the cliche) something for everyone at the Love Saves the Day festival. Headliners include AJ Tracey, who’s sure to hype the crowd with tunes such as ‘Pasta’ and ‘Buster Cannon’ and Kate Tempest, with her signature flow and relevant, political messages. The ‘Cloud Nine’ stage plays host to East London MC D Double E (Bluku Bluku!), whilst Heartless Crew will be providing some well-known Garage classics on ‘The Dance Off X Cult’ stage. If you fancy yourself as a bit of a performer then there’s also Horsebox Karaoke and the Dance Off Ring, where you can show off your own talents, before a range of DJs and MCs take the floor later on. And for only £49.50 for a Saturday or Sunday ticket, this one’s not to be missed.

One Dance Festival (Streatham Common, 23rd July)

This one’s for all the UK Garage, Jungle and Drum & Bass fans. Acts confirmed so far include DJ Luck and MC Neat, Artful Dodger and MC Versatile, but with previous acts including Kyla and Ms Dynamite, the line up this year is sure to be great. Even if the genres of music aren’t something you’d usually listen to, with fun fair rides and good vibes, this festival is definitely one to experience. Not only is it in London, and easy to travel to, tickets at the moment are only £19.95, making it the cheapest festival I’ve ever come across.

Detonate Festival (Colwick Country Park, Nottingham, 9th-10th June)

David Rodigan, Chase & Status, Wiley and Chris Lorenzo are just some of the amazing acts taking to the stage at Detonate Festival this year. Lyrical and comical geniuses Kurupt FM will be gracing the stage, as well as Manchurian MC Bugzy Malone and electronic music duo, Groove Armada. With fireworks, a street food market and a vintage market, there’s plenty to do even when you’re not watching the acts. Second release day tickets are currently £47.39, so now all you have to do, is choose between Friday and Saturday.

The Great Escape Festival (Brighton, 18-20th May)

MOBO winner Abra Cadabra is sure to hype the crowd at this years The Great Escape Festival, with hits such as ‘Robbery‘ and ‘Dun Talkin’, as well as singer/ songwriter Rag n Bone Man, whose hits have earned him a Brit Award and a Critics Choice Award. Irish rap trio Hare Squead blend hip hop and pop to create a fun, catchy vibe that’s definitely not to be missed! Canada’s Homeshake will also be making an appearance, giving a more chilled atmosphere with his soulful pop tunes, which include ‘Faded’ and ‘Call Me Up’. Not only is the festival in a great seaside location, the cheapest tickets are between £32-£45 at the moment, meaning you’ll have plenty of money left over for cotton candy.

Strawberries and Creem Festival (Haggis Farm, Cambridge, 17th June)

Get your vocals ready… Shaggy is a headliner at this years Strawberries and Creem festival, along with grime veteran Wiley. We’re talking hits like ‘It Wasn’t me’, ‘Boombastic’, ‘Wot do u call it?‘ and ‘Wearing My Rolex’. Stratford MC J Hus is also on the lineup, mixing Afro beats and rap for an upbeat flow that’s perfect for Summer. You’ll be partying hard to Donae’o, whilst General Levy will be providing plenty for the Junglist massive, with tunes like ‘Incredible’ and ‘Pull Up’. DJs from Boiler Room, Radar Radio and Rinse FM will also be there, keeping you entertained with a range of tunes throughout the day.
