Last week, NTS Radio collaborated with Adidas Originals to deliver ‘Crew 2 Crew’ – the first of a series of all-day events that shine a light on and celebrate the underground music scene. The first one was held at the NTS Studio in London, but Berlin, Paris and Shanghai are all soon to be blessed.

The event was hosted by Kenny AllStar, with himself and special guests providing music and good vibes all day from 2PM – 10PM, this was far more than just a music event though. If you wanted to turn up, the opportunity was always there. But NTS and Adidas collaborated to provide an experience.

FIFA, Food tokens and free drinks were on offer, which can pretty much guarantee a good time, but with special guests like Headie One, Ambush and D Block EU coming through for 1 hour live takeovers, the energy was always at a maximum; whether it was someone spitting bars or workhorse Kenny Allstar, who was nonstop all day, providing mixes of the best of the UK scene and the best of the rest. The vibe was a perfect fit for the Dalston setting.

As you can imagine, a lot of Adidas was on display, but MTV and Radio 1’s Snoochie Shy’s outfit was a memorable one.

The food tokens and free drinks meant that nobody’s hands and stomachs were ever empty; something that can be overlooked when hosting all-day events. It can be daring to host a whole event for 8 hours. People may lose interest, it may get repetitive or simply people are just tired; but none of this was a problem for NTS and Adidas.

Each hour brought something new, and as the day went on with the names getting bigger and bigger and the room getting busier and busier, the first ‘Crew 2 Crew’ created a memorable experience that 3 lucky cities are going to get a chance to take advantage of.
