After a long wait, South London’s WhoisORION drops the visuals to his ladies dedicated track ‘Kiss Face Pending’.
For those who don’t know much about WhoisORION, he is a multitalented artist and producer having worked with plenty of names behind the scenes. Another notable accolade that shows his level of talent already is having performed on the same line up as Stormzy. ‘Kiss Face Pending’ is a departure from the current trending sounds. It seems to take a lot more cues from Drake than any other UK influence. The laid-back instrumental paired with a melodic and catchy hook will have it stuck in your head long after the first listen. The content is a blend of self-reflection, cheekiness, and bravado that not only complement each other well but shows a clear thought and craft behind the track itself.
Whilst the track has been around for a few months, the visuals had seemingly been teased for as long. After that gradual building of a buzz, he finally dropped the visuals. In said visuals, ‘Kiss Face Pending’ takes cues from Young Thug’s infamous ‘Wyclef Jean’ video, mimicking the narrative element from that now highly acclaimed video.
Whilst this offering may not be for everyone, musically it should excite listeners as it shows a glimpse of the diversity that WhoisORION has to offer stylistically. From melodies, flows, and lyrics all are evident in the track as he has shown he can do this on any kind of sound. Look out for him and his frequent collaborator Kwayorclinch whether that’s on the production side or as the frontman.
